Diljit Dosanjh is adding another milestone to his impressive achievements in the music industry. The actor-singer, known for promoting Punjabi music on global platforms, is set to be a guest on the highly popular The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In a new Instagram post on Wednesday, Diljit shared the announcement with a series of pictures and wrote in the caption, “PANJABI AAGYE OYEE. This Week’s Guest.” One of the pictures showed the guest list for the week, which included acclaimed actors Eddie Murphy, Kevin Costner, and The Bear star Matty Matheson.
Kareena Kapoor Khan commented on his post, “Ufffff.” Anil Kapoor, Neha Dhupia too displayed excitement. Indian singer Sid Sriram also dropped a comment under his post saying, “Let’s gooooo.”
Diljit is no stranger to creating history. In April, he set a new record at Vancouver’s BC Place stadium by becoming the first Punjabi artist to perform at the venue as part of his Dil-Luminati tour. He also posted pictures from the packed concert on Instagram, captioning them, “HISTORY HAS BEEN WRITTEN, BC PLACE STADIUM SOLD OUT….DIL-LUMINATI TOUR.”
Last year, Diljit made headlines by performing for a packed audience at Coachella, becoming the first Punjabi artist to do so. He announced his arrival on stage with “Punjabi aa gaye Coachella oye,” a moment that quickly went viral on social media.
Diljit was recently seen in Imtiaz Ali’s musical biopic Amar Singh Chamkila, co-starring Parineeti Chopra. He also had a supporting role in Crew, which featured Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon.
